Documentary Series "Do not be mad at me for going silent for a moment"

As the great jubilee approaches, celebrating 30 years of gaining the championship title of Europe in Istanbul, we have created a documentary series based on three episodes, honoring the Basketball Club Partizan which wrote basketball history in golden letters. Doing so, we had a lot of help from a friend of the club, an artist, Mr Bogdan Diklic.

Episode 1: I am Partizan

The first episode is signed by Zeljko Obradovic. He goes through his first basketball steps in Cacak, traveling along the memories of great role models and idols like Dragan Kicanovic and Radmilo Milosevic. Bravely browsing through the parallels of success, both past and present, two friends, Bogdan Diklic and Zeljko Obradovic, evoke mutual personal and professional moments, opening about the closeness and love they have towards Partizan, in a basketball court of the “20. Oktobar” primary school. Each speaker, through his own beginnings and impressions, leaves a golden mark: Aleksandar Đorđević, Predrag Danilović, Željko Rebrača, Mlađan Šilobad, Nikola Lončar, Slaviša Koprivica, Duško Vujošević.

Episode 2: Serbian brigades from Fuenlabrada

How to love Partizan far away from it’s home, even if you are not a local fan. In a small suburb of Spain, Fuenlabrada, where even today after 30 years, a cult following the black and white club still exists. About this phenomenon which happened in 1992, when a country was losing it’s identity in the midst of war and sanctions, a story full of emotions is told by Predrag Danilovic. Talking to Bogdan Diklic, in a uniquely funny and sincere way, we travel through Spain exploring the phenomenon of love and support for Partizan. With great attention to detail we heard from: Tomes Jofresa and Jose Quintana, and of course our golden team: Željko Obradović, Aleksandar Đorđević, Željko Rebrača, Nikola Lončar, Slaviša Koprivica, Mlađan Šilobad. The time machine is best driven by the journalist Vladimir Stankovic.

Episode 3: Three points, three points…

In the spirit of the great jubilee we finish the series with an episode from Istanbul. We visited Aleksandar Djordjevic who opened up to us with his memories, and once again told this great historic moment through his own lens. Surely, Bogdan Diklic patiently awaited him in the primary school “20. Oktobar”, and it was all worth it. We once again brought the old fairy tale back to life – in which we all, for a brief moment in history, were Partizan. 30 years ago Sasa Djordjevic lifted the trophy, and he did it once again today, which we captured with our cameras. We got to hear a lot of valuable words by a sports journalist from Istanbul, Murat Murathanoğlu, and some of his words served as a crown to our series, as: “The emotional fact that back then, two legens were born, Sasa Djordjevic and Zeljko Obradovic, will live for a long time. That point changed all our lives.”

Documentary film »Do not be mad at me for going silent for a moment«

As the great jubilee approachs, celebrating 30 years of gaining the championship title of Europe in Istanbul, we have created a documentary series to serve as an emotional manual for success, pride, and the tradition of basketball. Bogdan Diklic, an actor and a great friend of the club, opened up the Golden Story with Zeljko Obradovic, from his first days in baskteball, role models and idols, to his pivotal moment when he went from being a player to being a coach. Opening up on the phenomenon of love for a club went to Predrag Danilovic, while the crowning of the story went to Aleksandar Djordjevic. Witnessing the joy this moment in history brought are: Željko Rebrača, Mlađan Šilobad, Nikola Lončar, Slaviša Koprivica, Duško Vujoševic, as they all have been a part of history and the most known point of Aleksandar Djordjevic, which, simbolically, raised the trophy he held 30 years ago, once again for our film crew, all these years later.
